Reach out and touch Him!

By Senior Pastor Ronald Bernier, Master Builder Ministries, Fall River, MA

There is a small commentary that follows Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand and His walking on the sea. Matthew describes this scene when they arrived in the land of Gennesaret: “And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.” Matthew 14:35-36

All around us are people that need to experience the reality of the power of God. As His people, we are called to carry His presence in our lives. It is not we ourselves that are anything special, it is the power and presence of God that works miracles in the lives of those in our surrounding region. It is so important that our communities learn of the reality of Jesus walking among us.

This touch must first be a reality in our own lives. If you are struggling with any issue today, may I encourage you to stretch out your hand and touch the hem of the Lord’s garment. Seek a brother or sister in the Lord, ask them to pray with and for you. The Lord is real, able to help you in your time of trouble. Even more, He wants to use you to be His hands and feet as you put on His garment and allow others to touch and be healed; and more than just physical healing, that they may be made perfectly well.
