If we believed this . . . We would act differently!

By Pastor Ronald Bernier, Master Builders Ministries, Fall River

Isaiah prophesies about the coming of the Lord as He would shoulder His kingdom, with no limitation of growth and peace. Judgment and justice will be established and order brought forth, beginning with Jesus birth and the establishment of the New Covenant sealed with His blood.

This is not just a far off distant realization, it is one that began with Jesus receiving all authority and power, through His crucifixion and resurrection. We, who are called, have been sent according to His proclamation and direction, individually and collectively. Look at Isaiah’s words:

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6-7

We can either believe this and walk in the authority that has been given us, or we can ignore our stewardship and render our faith powerless. Just consider what might happen if the people of God understood this reality? We can’t exercise authority over nations when we struggle with taking authority over our own carnal ways.

Self-control and self-government need to be mastered through the power of the Lord’s grace, before we can demonstrate solutions for others to follow. But it all begins with understanding that Jesus already has overcome the world. We can follow His example and be overcomers. May we walk with the knowledge that what is impossible with man is possible with God
