Cowering to cultural pressure or negative resistance does not describe a person of faith. It is easier to flow culturally, trying to live a life that is acceptable and never raising a challenge. Unfortunately, that is not the kind of leadership that the Lord is looking for from our lives. Instead of making a difference we become indifferent, conformable not transformable. This was not the description of Caleb. When everyone else said, “no”, Caleb said, “let’s go”! If God is for us, who can be against us?
The testimony of the Lord was this:
“But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.” Numbers 14:24
Caleb held on to the promise of the Lord and walked by faith. We, too, must hold on to God’s promises and see Him do great things. Whatever He calls us to do, remember that He is greater than any obstacle. Through Christ we can do all things. Like Caleb, let us claim the mountain of God’s promise. It is not just for us, but all of our descendants following.
